Living on or adjacent to one of our amazing golf courses in the Twin Cities metro region used to come with somewhat of a guarantee – the view will never be replaced by a big box store, parking lot or anything else.

That all changed over the past few years with golf courses closing down left and right. Not in Edina, though. We still have two that are worth living on or near. By the way, did you know that homes on golf courses tend to hold their value better than homes further away?

Brainerd, MN features some excellent nearby amusement parks. It’s a great way to spend a day away and features something all ages can enjoy. Being a home of many great family activities, the Brainerd Lakes amusement parks are a great bonus to families living here.

Are you loving this weather? It’s pretty amazing and long overdue. If all this sunshine – and the fact that the first day of spring is exactly one week from today -- makes your thoughts turn to that patch of ugly ground outside, we’ve got some ideas on how you can jumpstart your spring gardening program.

Event

The 49th Annual Edina Art Fair is returning this summer and it’s going to an amazing weekend. It’s the First Official Art Fair of the Year and ranked as the top art fair in the state. It’s even called one of the top art fairs in the nation featuring the best 300 fine artists from the state, from the country and even from Canada.

You can check it out for no charge and enjoy a free shuttle taking you from exhibit to exhibit. Here is what you can expect for this year’s Edina Art Fair.

When is the art fair?

It takes place from Friday, June 5th until Sunday, June 7th. Friday and Saturday hours are from 10am-7pm and Sunday hours are from 10am-5pm. It will take place rain or shine.

It’s FRIDAY! There’s a lot going on this weekend right here in our own backyards in Edina. Read on as we help you make some fun plans for this weekend.

 Mmmmm. . .pancakes!

Come out and support the Edina Lions Club Sunday morning and have a yummy pancake breakfast. All proceeds go to the PACER Center. This organization provides support to parents of children with disabilities.

The pancake breakfast will be held at South View Middle School on South View Lane from 8:00 a.m. until noon Sunday, March 8. Breakfast is $8 per person.

Fun stuff for the kids

Spend the morning with your little one and the Sesame Street Gang at Edina Senior Center. There will be cookie making with the Cookie Monster, visits to Oscar’s garbage can and counting fun
