Now don’t balk when you read that the Fountain Woods community was built in 1972 (converted from apartments in the early 1980s). Most of the units have been updated and, viewing the interiors, it’s hard to tell their age. But the best part about living in an older community is that the landscaping is mature and that certainly holds true in the Fountain Woods condo community, with lots of grass and mature trees.
This community is also located nearby to some of Edina’s favorite amenities, such as parks and bike and nature trails.
Fountain Woods is comprised of two 4-story buildings with 160 units in total. All of the homes, with the exception of the studios, have balconies and those on the upper two floors feature wood-burning fireplaces.
Amenities here include:
- Heated underground parking
- Indoor Racquetball Court
- Laundry rooms on each floor
- Two Exercise Rooms
- Two Lounge Areas
- Two Guest Rooms
- A Jacuzzi tub
- Two Party Rooms
- Two men's saunas
- Two women's saunas
Floorplans range in size from 550 to 1,300 square feet and offer studio and one, two and three bedrooms.
Although there are enough amenities here to keep anyone busy, when you want to venture out into the surrounding area you’ll find Bredesen and Walnut Lake Parks next door.
There are currently four condos for sale at Fountain Woods, ranging in price from $136,900 to $177,500. You’ll find the community at 6650 to 6730 Vernon Avenue near the intersection of Highway 169 and 62 Crosstown in Edina.
